In addition to the natural sciences included in my university studies
I've always been interested in geography and maps. That's why I also saw
it worthwhile to start constructing a page with related texts and links.
Sciences
The place, where I studied sciences has by now developed into the modern
University of Jyväskylä*.
During my student years I, of course, came to know best the department
of chemistry, which now looks like this*.
I studied at Jyväskylä University full-time for years 1968
- 72 and after starting to work as a teacher I continued my studies during
summer terms until year 1982, when I received my M. A. degree. The lower
degree, correspondig to B. Sc. I did in three years, getting it ready in
1971.
My major was all the time organic chemistry and my final thesis
was on 'Structural analysis of cyclodiene insecticides by spectroscopic
methods'. If You find this immensely interesting, feel free to ask more
:-) As minors I had mathematics, physics, theoretical physics and
computer science, the last one of which I added to my repertoire in 1981.
