School
I gratuated from the Kotka polytechnic as an software engineer (yes, read:
a coder). I enjoyed those four years while studying & working with computers &
other electric things. I have always wanted to know what makes them tik. On the other hand
it's interesting to consentrate on the real-life cases concerning computer industry in
it's various forms.
in the computer technology class a builded a 8-bit stereo sound card
builded a steering wheel and pedals (at the time they costed too much)
made utility with assembler to inspect your computer hardware&software
the translation of fax server software from UNIX to the Windows NT
The Southern Finland InterPrise
The InterPrise was a gathering of different companys. The basic idea behind it was to offer firms from Europe a channel to the russian market through finnish firms. Finnish companys have good connections to the russia where the market is quite unstable.
We (15 computer technology students) took a challenge of arranging the communication system to the scene. Software used was Novell's GroupWise program which is ment for time reservation and cheduling ... 200 companies from Finland, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Germany, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium attended and what I've heard, enjoyed and found it useful event.
