Superdog: Answer

When Superdog is traveling at 2048 km/h, he has exceeded the speed of sound (which, under normal circumstances, is somewhat larger than 1024 km/h which is the previous step). He hears no further clanks. That's where he stops doubling his speed. Correct answer: 2048 km/h.

Surprisingly many people (about 50% of all responses) seemed to think that calculating the series makes up a hard enough problem, so that they miss the caveat (and suggest 4096 km/h, or even 8192 km/h).
