The key is that cups exchange places. They are not re-arranged randomly.

Therefore, the middle cup contains either two black balls or two white balls. Pick up one ball from that cup. If it is black, the cups are (WB), (BB), (WW). If it is white, the cups are (BB), (WW), (WB).
